Qutb-ud-din Aibak's Mausoleum


As you turn in the small street of Anarkali you see the Mausoleum of Sultan Qutb-ud-din Aibak

Sultan Qutb-ud-din Aibak also called "Lakh Baksh Sultan" (the donator of hundreds of thousands)was the first Muslim king of Northwest India who ruled from his capital in Delhi where he built Qutub Minar and the Quwwat Al Islam mosque and now Qutb-ud-din Aibak's tomb is located behind Anarkali bazaar which is present after being renovated at the orders of the Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1970.



Qutb-ud-Din Aibak was a very avid player of polo, he died in Lahore in 1210 A.D., while playing the game.
